ObjectTo observe the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine on adverse reactions of the interferon which was used to treat the chronic hepatitis B patientsMethodSelected50cases of chronic hepatitis B patients who were cases of outpatient or inpatient department of the Liver Center in Traditional Medicine Hospital of Hubei Province from2010to2011. According to the order of the treatment, they were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. Both of the two groups had25cases. The two groups whose patients in the age, sex, severity of disease and the total score of the treatment of Traditional Chinese medicine symptoms respects had no significant difference (P>0.05) and they were comparable. The treatment group was received traditional Chinese medicine combined with interferon treatment while the control group was received interferon therapy alone. A pair of traditional Chinese medicine which had been drunk twice a day. In addition, the recombinant human interferon α-2b injection which was from Tianjin Hua Li da Biological Engineering Co, Ltd was injected5million IU daily for the first two weeks and every other day later. The course of this treatment had been continued to6months. After the6months treatment, there had three months follow-up. Mainly observed the indictors that were before and after taking medicine, such as the of the situation of the Traditional Chinese medicine symptoms, muscle pain.weight change, blood change, liver function, HBV-DNA quantitative examination and liver spleen B supersonic wave change.Result1. The situation of the selected cases:A total of50patients (25cases in the treatment group and25cases in the control group). They completed6months treatment follow to the research programs and carried out3months follow-up.2. Comparison of the situation of the mainly Chinese medicine symptom including of fatigue and anorexia for the two groups:After6months treatment, in the clinical efficacy of the Chinese medicine symptom respect, the treatment group’s cure rate was24.0%, total effective rate was68.0%and the control group’s cure rate was4.0%, total effective rate was24.0%. So, the treatment group and the control group had significant difference (P<0.05).3. Comparison of the situation of the muscle pain for the two groups:After6months treatment, the treatment group’s normalization rate was92.0%and the control group’s normalization rate was32.0%. The treatment group was significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). According to three months Follow-up, the treatment group’s normalization rate was96.0%and the control group’s normalization rate was44.0%.The treatment group was significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).4. Comparison of the situation of the Weight change for the two groups:After6months treatment, the treatment group’s normalization rate was72.0%and the control group’s normalization rate was28.0%. The treatment group was significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). According to three months Follow-up, the treatment group’s normalization rate was88.0%and the control group’s normalization rate was40.0%. The treatment group was significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). 5. Comparison of the situation of the WBC quantity change for the two groups:After6months treatment, the treatment group’s normalization rate was68.0%and the control group’s normalization rate was24.0%. The treatment group was significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). According to three months Follow-up, the treatment group’s normalization rate was92.0%and the control group’s normalization rate was36.0%.The treatment group was significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).6. Comparison of the situation of the PLT quantity change for the two groups:After6months treatment, the treatment group’s normalization rate was60.0%and the control group’s normalization rate was20.0%. The treatment group was significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). According to three months Follow-up, the treatment group’s normalization rate was76.0%and the control group’s normalization rate was28.0%. The treatment group was significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).7. Comparison of the situation of the comprehensive effect of clinical for the two groups:After6months treatment, the treatment group’s cure rate was44.0%, total effective rate was80.0%and the control group’s cure rate was36.0%, total effective rate was 76.0%. There was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05).8. Comparison of the situation of the liver function for the two groups:After6months treatment, the treatment group’s normalization rate was64.0%and the control group’s normalization rate was60.0%. There was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). According to three months Follow-up, the treatment group’s normalization rate was80.0%and the control group’s normalization rate was76.0%. There was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05).9. Comparison of the situation of the HBV-DNA change for the two groups:After6months treatment, the treatment group’s normalization rate was60.0%and the control group’s normalization rate was56.0%. There was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). According to three months Follow-up, the treatment group’s normalization rate was64.0%and the control group’s normalization rate was60.0%. There was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). Conelusion1. Traditional Chinese medicine was able to treat or reduce the adverse reactions of the interferon. So, the traditional Chinese medicine had the clinical effect on the adverse reactions which were after the interferon treatment of CHB.2. Some traditional Chinese medicine had a certain effect on the anti-viral and immunomodulatory. They could strengthen the effect of the interferon as well as promote the liver function to normal, HBV-DNA to negative.
