OBJECTIVES:To investigate the current training status and demand of Community Health Service Personnel of Changsha City and provide theoretical basis for developing new training patterns and methods in representative regions.METHODS: Totally316wokers were enrolled by random sampling form15community health service institutions. The condition and expections on training were investigated. The data were analysed by descriptive analysis, chi-square test and ordinal logistic regression.RESULTS:1Status of training152technicians were trained which86.2%was occurred in lastest year. There were significant differences in training rate among different age groups and different post types (P<0.05).111trainers received General Practice (GP) training.76trainers experienced full-time mode.56.6%,35.5%and7.9%trainers receiced one, two and three or more kind of training methods, including Theory Teaching, Case Discussion, Practical Teaching and Distance Education.61trainers holded that the training content could be completely adopted by practical work,80trainers considered it meet requirements basically, the else denied the training effect.2Training demand243technicians among the total samples insisted that training is essential to Community Health Service personnel.The rest considered it mybe essential or unnecessary.102technicians expected a kind of full-time training. In contrast, the rest214technicians expected an on-job-training.As for training content, the expected received rate above30.0%ranking as following:clinic basis,community emergency, psychological basis, pediatrics, management skills, diagnostic skills, medical, chronic disease, gynecology, MCH, health education.Special subject training was the favorite expected mode (44.9%) for technicians. The next was successively participation training, diploma education, academic conference and computer training (13.0%).As for teaching method,75.6%technicians preferred to clinical practice. The next was successively theory teaching, community practice, team case discussions and remote education (19.3%).7days was recommended as a perfect time length by48.7%technicians,12.7%technicians considered it should be remained for more than a month. There were significant differences in expected time length among different post types.Ordinal logistic regression showed that previous training experience, years of basic health engagement and genders were influencing factors of training demand (P<0.10).CONCLUSIONS:1The training was lower rate in community health service personnel in Changsha. There were significant differences in training rate among different age groups and different post types.2The training effect should be strengthed.Especially, the training models, content, teaching methods and mashould be available for practical work.3Previous training experiences, years of basic health engagement and genders were influencing factors of training demand.
