Clinical Study On Treatment Of Vascular Dementia By Qinggan Area Acupuncture With Nucha Electrical Acupuncture

Objective:To observe the efficacy of Qinggan area acupuncture with nucha electrical acupuncture in treatment of vascular dementia.Method:60cases of vascular dementia patients were randomly divided into two groups which were treatment group(Qinggan area acupuncture with nucha electrical acupuncture) and control group(traditional group).There were30cases in each group.Cognitive function would be assessed by MMSE and activities of daily living would be assessed by ADL index. Four weeks later,each scale score changes and the efficacies would be observed.Result:The intra-group comparison detected significant differences on MMSE and ADL index between pre-treatment and post-treatment in both groups(p<0.05).The iner-group comparison of MMSE and ADL index after treatment of4weeks detected significant differences. The total effective rate was90.00%in the observation,and the one in traditional group was76.67%. The total effective rate between the two groups, the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05).Conclusion:Qinggan area acupuncture with nucha electrical acupuncture can effctive enhance the VD patient’s cognitive function and activities of daily living.Qinggan area acupuncture with nucha electrical acupuncture is better than traditional acupuncture in treatment of vascular dementia.
