Objective:To investigate the expression and singnificance of Arkadiaand c-Ski in pathologic scar. Methods:Keloid and hypertrophic scar tissues from60patients werecollected during operation,and25cases of normal skin was used as control. The expression of Arkadia and c-Ski mRNA were evaluated by RT-PCR, andthe protein levels of Arkadia and c-Ski were detected byimmunohistochemis-try.Results:①There were subtle expression of Arkadia and c-Ski and theirmRNA in normal skin.②The expression of Arkadia mRNA in pathologicscar were higher than that in normal skin (p<0.05), while there was nostatistical difference between in keloid and hypertrophic scartissues(P>0.05).③The expression of c-Ski mRNAin pathologic scar were higher than that innormal skin (p<0.05), while there was no statistical difference between inkeloid and hypertrophic scar tissues(P>0.05).④Arkadia in pathologic scar were higher than that in normal skin (p<0.05),while there was no statisticaldifference between in keloid and hypertrophic scar tissues(P>0.05).⑤C-Ski protein in keloid were higher than that in hypertrophic scar andnormal skin(p<0.05),while there was no significant difference betweenhypertrophic scar and normal skin(p>0.05).Conclusions:Abnormal expression of Arkadia and c-Ski may play animportant role in the formation and development of pathologic scar.
