Objective: To know the relation between the children tuberculosis and BCGvaccine situation,and to explore the effect of BCG to prevent childrentuberculosis.Methods: A retrospective study was undertaken642cases pediatric TBpatients admitted to Chongqing children hospital affiliated to Chongqingmedical university from January2008to December2011. Descriptivestatistics andχ2or t test was used to analyze data.Results: Overall,BCG vaccine rate is75.9%,unvaccinated BCGvaccine rate is24.1%;BCG vaccine rate in pulmonary tuberculosispatients is78.4%;the BCG vaccine rate of Tuberculous meningitis is71.2%,the BCG vaccine rate of others extro-pulmonary tuberculosis is90.1%,the BCG vaccine rate of general Tuberculous is66.0%;BCGvaccine rate in serious types of pediatric TB is67.0%,the rate incommon pediatric TB is81.3%(P=0.000);in age group of~3years old pediatric TB patients,the BCG vaccine rate of patients with goodoutcome is82.4%,the rate in patients with not good outcomes is58.5%(P=0.031);the BCG vaccine rate in death cases is lower than non-deathcases obviously.Conclusions: BCG is effective to prevent severe types of pediatricTB,and it can improve the clinical outcome of pediatric TB in~3yearsold,and decrease the mortality rate of children tuberculosis.
