Objective The purpose of this study was to determine the normal value of rightventricle using one beat full-volume real-time three-dimensional echocardiography(RT-3DE) and assess the feasibility of this technique. Methods One beat full volume images were acquired at the apical4chamber levelin129healthy volunteers. The right and left ventricular volumes were examined withthe eSie LVA and RVA.The subjects were divided into2groups (male and female)according to the gender, according to the age into3groups (20~39years old,40~59years old,60years old and above). Results Adequate data were obtained in129subjects.The RV-EDV was92.420±21.285ml,RV-ESV34.63±9.190ml,RV-SV57.84±13.905ml,RV-EF62.508±4.966ml. There were significant differences between RV and LV in EDV, ESV, andEF, but no significant difference in SV. RV-EDV, RV-ESV and RV-SV are correlatewell with BSA. Male group has larger RV-EDV, RV-ESV and RV-SV than femalegroup. RV-EDV, RV-SV and RV-EF decrease along with the age. Conclusions Right ventricle function can be measured noninvasively by RT-3DEwith high feasibility. This novel method contributes to the detailed study of right heartin different cardiovascular diseases.
