Objective: To explore the expression level of GPⅡ b/Ⅲ a complex(CD41/CD61) in peripheral blood of colorectal cancer (CRC) patients and thehealth persons, as well as the correlationship between activated platelet andclinical pathological data, VEGF or CXCR4in colorectal cancer.Methods:95cases with CRC from August2010to October2011werechosen in this study, and40healthy people were chosen as control group. Theexpression of GPⅡb/Ⅲa was detected by Flow Cytometer. The expression ofVEGF, MVD, CXCR4in CRC tissue was assesed by Immunohistochemistry. The relationship between activated platelet and clinical pathological data,VEGF or CXCR4was statistically significance in CRC.Results:1.The amount of platelet of CRC patients is significantly higher than thatof control group [(184.71±34.48)×109/L vs(251.61±83.71)×109/L,(P<0.05)]. The platelet count (218.81±98.77)×109/L) in stage Ⅰwas nosignificant greater than the control group. The platelet count was(248.34±70.39)×109/L、(261.05±88.17)×109/L in stage Ⅱa nd satgeⅢ-Ⅳ,respectively, which was higher than that of control group. The amount ofplatelet in CRC patients did not show any statistically significance with age, gender,TNM staging, differentiation degree,CEA level, lymph node metastasis,or invasive depth.2.The expression level of GPⅡ b/Ⅲ a in CRC patients issignificantlyhigher than that of control group[(25.95±16.92)vs(4.45±2.49)(,P<0.05)].3.The expression level of GPⅡ b/Ⅲ a in the group with lymph nodemetastasis[(31.90±17.92)] was higher than that without lymph nodemetastasis[(19.34±13.00),(P<0.01)]. There was also statistically difference between GPⅡ b/Ⅲa level and the invasion, TNM staging.4.GP Ⅱb/Ⅲ a in CRC patients hada positive correlation with MVD(r=0.632, P<0.01), VEGF(r=0.597, P<0.01),CXCR4(r=0.719, P<0.01).Conclusion:1.The platelets were activated in CRC patients; and the activated plateletswere closely correlated with lymph node metastasis, invasion, TNM staging.2.The activation of platelet may involved in the angiogenesis andchemotaxis of tumor in CRC.
