Acanthopanax sessiliflorus, a kind of perennial plant, belongs to Araliaceae. It has numerous medicalfunctions, including analgesia, decompression, lowering glucose. This essay is provided to be a analysison the chemical compositions in the leaves of A. sessiliflorus plants, so as to offer theoretical referencesfor their further exploitation, development and utilization. The followings are my mains researchfindings:1. The chemical compositions of the A. sessiliflorus’s leaves was isolated and purified by columnchromatography and recrystallization. After such a procedure, ten compounds were isolated.According to various physicochemical property and spectroscopy characteristics, nine compoundswere acquired and identified as:β-sitosterol,Scoparone,Daucosterol,chiisanoside,Hyperoside,Ade-nosine,3-O-p--coumarylquinic acid,Quercetin-3-O-β-D-glucose,Quercetin.2. Compared the contents of flavones in both A. sessiliflorus and A. senticosus plants, the resultshowed that both of the two kinds of plants’ leaves contain comparatively much flavones, thecontents of which were separately1.134%and3.815%. From such a result we could know that thecontent of flavones in A. senticosus was3.4times as much as that of A. sessiliflorus.3. Compared the contents of the flavones and hyperoside in the leaves of A. sessiliflorus in differentperiods. The result showed, the contents of the flavones and hyperoside in A. sessiliflorus weredecreased and then increased and decreased again.According to that result and the dry rates of eachperiod, the end of July was the best harvest period if put A. sessiliflorus as the production sources offlavonoid.4. Proved the anti-aging activity of A. sessiliflorus by the drosophila melanogaster survival test.Theresult showed that:as the concentration of the extract growing, the inhibition was increased and thendecreased.
