The Clinical Research On Electro-acupuncture At Back-shu Points In Treating Simple Obesity

Objective:To observe the clinical therapeutic effect of electro-acupuncture at Back-shu Points in treating simple obesity through group dividing method,and provide scientific objective clinical evidence for convenient high-effective method of reducing weight by acupuncture,and explore some underlying therapeutic mechanisms.Methods:Sixty simple obesity patients were randomly divided into two groups by visiting order: treatment group(electro-acupuncture at Back-shu Points) and control group(electol-acunpunture at regular acupoints),with30cases in each group. Treatment5times per week,10times as a course of treatment. After3courses of treatment, obesity indices(body mass, waistline, hip circumference, thigh circumference, body mass index and percentage of body fat) and symptom score were analyzed.Results:(1) After treatment, body mass, waistline, hip circumference, thigh circumference, body mass index and percentage of body fat were all descended both in the two groups. Indicators before and after treatment were significantly different (P＜0.01);(2) After treatment, the index fell between the two groups, decline in body weight and hip circumference have differences (P＜0.05), decline in waist circumference, body mass index and percentage of body fat have significant differences (P＜0.01), decline in thigh circumference has no statistically difference.(P＞0.05);(3) The compare to symptom score of two groups before and after treatment both have significant differences(P＜0.01); The compare to the decline in symptom score of two groups both have significant differences(P＜0.01);(4) The total effective rate of treatment group and control group were80.0%%and83.3%respectively.The total effective rate of treatment group was lower than control group,but after statistical analysis,there was no difference between the two group(P>0.05).Conclusions:(1) Electro-acupuncture at Back-shu Points and common electro-acupuncture were both effective treatments on simple obesity, their total therapeutic effect were equal.(2) Both the two groups can reduce obesity indices in patients with simple obesity, change of electro-acupuncture at Back-shu Points group in body mass,waist circumference, waistline, hip circumference, body mass index and percentage of body fat are obvious than common electro-acupuncture; (3)Electro-acupuncture at Back-shu Points can reduce the clinical symptoms of patients with simple obesity more effectively, to the role of weight loss and health, deserve further study.
