Abstract/Summary:
ObjectiveObserve the changes in clinical symptoms of chronic urticaria before and after Chinese medicine combining auto-hemic acupoint injection therapy, in order to evaluate the curative effect of this therapy.MethodsDivided62patients of chronic urticaria into two groups randomly. There were32patients in therapy group,30patients in control group. Gave the therapy group Chinese medicine combining auto-hemic acupoint injection therapy, and the control group was given loratadine tablets and ketotifen fumarate tablets. Observed the clinical curative effect after four weeks.ResultsThe total effective rate in therapy group was62.5%, while80.0%in control group. There was no significant difference between two groups (P>0.05). The curative effect of total score significantly decreased in both groups after treatment.Compared the score before and after treatment in one group, it showed the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The curative effect of total score was53.6%in therapy group, while56.8%in control group, and there was no significant difference (P>0.05).The therapy group had one case of dizziness, and the adverse reaction rate was3.1%. The control group had seven cases of adverse reaction in total, they were five cases of drowsiness, one case of thirst, and one case of fatigue, and the adverse reaction rate was23.3%. The difference of two adverse reaction rates was statistically significant (P<0.05). Neither of the groups had any other serious systemic symptoms tolerated, and the adverse reactions disappeared on their own when the treatment continued without any special handlings. In the following month, the therapy group had no recurrence case as the control group had three, in which the recurrence rate was42.9%.ConclusionChinese medicine combining auto-hemic acupoint injection therapy was effective in the treatment of chronic urticaria. The curative effect was equivalent to loratadine tablets and ketotifen fumarate tablets. Besides, the combination therapy was safer and had a good tolerance. So it was worth popularizing and applying in clinic.
