The Study On The Influence Of Minimal Residual Leukemia Patients’ Immune Function With Supplementing Qi And Nourishing Yin Method

BackgroundLeukemia is the malignant tumors of hematopoietic system, can happen at any age, accounting for5%of the total number of cancer, it is one of the ten high-risk malignant tumor in China. At present leukemia chemotherapy in complete response rate can amount to65%-85%. Even though the leukemia patients reached complete remission (CR).there is still a considerable proportion of leukemia relapse. The main reason is that patients in complete remission stage remain a few leukemia cells, namely Minimal Residual Leukemia.Minimal Residual Leukemia is the state of minimal leukemic cell in complete remission after the treatment of acute leukemia, is the root of leukemia relapse, is also the main factor of affecting the long-term survival of patients with acute leukemia.Modern medical study found that immune function of the patients with acute leukemia is low. After complete remission in Minimal Residual Leukemia stage, though the immune function is resumed, but it is still lower than a normal person, the results show that the immune function of patients with MRL still have defects. At present chemotherapy is still the main measure of the treatment for leukemia. When chemotherapy is killing the leukemia cells, it also has strong inhibition to the body’s immune function. Chemotherapy killing leukemia cell is logarithmic degree, and can never kill leukemia cells to zero, eventually killing MRL cells must rely on the body’s own immune surveillance function. Therefore actively seeking the effective treatment of integrating traditional and western medicine to correct MRL patient’s immune deficiency, recovering the patient’s immune surveillance function, and clearing the MRL cells of patient, as long as preventing the leukemia relapse are becoming one of the most important directions of leukemia clinical research.According to our department(Department of Hematology of Guangdong Province Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medical)long-term clinical experience, the chemotherapy of leukemia can be both harmful and helpful to the paitient in different aspects during treatment.Acute leukemia after chemotherapy reach into the MRL stage after CR, the evil influence of patients relative not significant, and healthy atmosphere is more virtual failure because of attacking of the evil poison、radiotherapy and chemotherapy, be provided with the characteristic of "asthenic healthy qi with pathogen lingering"、"with weakness primarily".The main performance is both Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome of fatigue, sweat, thirst and so on.So centralizer cultivates the, supplementing qi and nourishing yin are the important treatments of this disease.ShenQi Baixue potions is the experience prescriptions, summed up by our department in long-term clinical practice, contains some kinds of Traditional Chinese Medicine to support qi and strengthen yin, such as TaiZiShen、HuangQi、 NvZhenZi、BaiShu、HuangJing、BuGuZhi、ChaiHu、HuangQin and so on, and is most appropriate to treat MRL.ObjectiveBy observing the changes of supplementing Qi and nourishing Yin on patients with minimal residual leukemia TCM syndrome and immunity index,such as peripheral white blood cell coun^lymphocyte count、T lymphocyte subsets. So as to provide the theory basis and the clinical practice experience for treatment MRL with integrated Traditional and Western medicine.MethodsUsing the method of experimental comparison, the cases of meeting inclusion criteria were divided into treatment group and control group, in which chemotherapy cases as control group, supplementing Qi and nourishing Yin combined with chemotherapy cases as treatment group, the ratio of cases in the two groups is1:1. Record the TCM syndrome of MRL patients before treatment and after one course of treatment, than fill in the 《the TCM syndrome of deficieney of Qi and Yin syndrome classification integrals table》.Take down the immune function index of MRL patients before treatment and after one course of treatment, such as peripheral white blood cell coun、lymphocyte count、 T lymphocyte and T lymphocyte subsets (CD3+、CD4+、CD8+、CD4+/CD8+) and so on.The test data applies SPSS18.0statistical analysis software for processing.Results1.The deficieney of Qi and Yin syndrome of treatment group patients is improved significantly, compared with the control group, the TCM symptoms integral reduced more obviously, P=0.000(P<0.05),the difference is statisti-cally significant.2. The peripheral white blood cell count of treatment group patients is more rised than before, compared with the control group, P=0.003(P<0.05), the difference is statistically significant; the lymphocyte count of treatment group patients is more rised than before, compared with the control group, P=0.001(P<0.05), the difference is statistically significant.3. The CD3+、CD4+、CD4+/CD8+of the treatment group patients are more rised than before, CD8+lower than before, compared with the control group, the P value are less than0.05, the difference is statistically significant.ConclusionThe application of supplementing Qi and nourishing Yin method can improve the deficieney of Qi and Yin syndrome of MRL patients, so as to improve the quality of life of patients. Supplementing qi and nourishing yin method may also improve peripheral white blood cell count, lymphocyte count, T lymphocy-tes (CD3+), helper T lymphocyte subsets (CD4+), reduce the inhibition of T lymphocyte subsets(CD8+), and adjust T lymphocyte subsets in proportion.This to correct patients’immune function defects and immune disorders, restore patients’immune defense and immune surveillance function, reduce the complications of infection, prevent leukemia relapse is very significant.
