ObjectiveTo explore clinical effects of Unilateral Sensory Disturbance in Cere-brovascular Diseases treated by Abdominal Acupucture, and also to provide scientific experimental basis for treatment program of this therapy, and to improve the patients’quality of.MethodsNinety patients who suffered from Unilateral Sensory Disturbance in Cerebrovascular Diseases have been selected according to eligible criteria and randomly divided into two equal working groups:1) the control group was administered by body acupuncture treatment and,2) the study group was administered by abdominal acupuncture combined with body acupuncture, respectively. In the control group, GV-20, HN-3, LI-15, Ll-11, PC-6, LI-4, ST-36, GB-34, SP-6, LR-3(all affected side) points were used. In the study group, Yin Qi Gui Yuan (RN-12, RN-10, RN-6and RN-4); RN-11; KI-17, BO-7(both contralateral side); ST-24(bilaterally side); ST-26, BO-1, BO-4(all affected side) points were used. Routine medicine and recovery therapy was chosen on the acupuncture basic treatment for two groups. The treatment schedule was30minutes per visit,6visits per week, totally2weeks for a course. For diagnosis and evolution after treatment, Fugl-Meyer motor scale, NIHSS and Barthel Index were used before as well as after treatment, including the one-month follow-ups.Results1.By comparing the data before treatment, there was no significant difference between two groups by gender, age, concomitant diseases scale and anamnesis scale (P>0.05). 2. Comparison of FMMS scores:Before treatment, patients with the scores of sensory function, motor function, range of motion and arthralgia between the two groups had no significant (P>0.05). After treatment of two weeks there were significant differences (P<0.05) in both groups, as well as the one-month follow-ups. And after treatment of two weeks there were significant differences (P<0.05) between the two groups with the scores of sensory function and arthralgia. It shows that the two groups both can improve FMMS scores, but the study group is superior to the control group in improving the sensory function.3. Comparison of NIHSS score:Before the treatment, between the two groups there was no significant difference (P>0.05). After treatment of two weeks there were significant differences (P<0.05) in both groups, as well as the one-month follow-ups; but no significant difference (P>0.05) between the two groups. It shows that the two groups both can improve BI scores, and have the same curative effect on it.4. Comparison of BI score:Before treatment, between the two groups there was no significant (P>0.05), does not have statistical significance. After treatment, the two group patients’ BI scores were significantly increased compared with those before treatment, there was a very significant difference (P<0.05); but no significant difference (P>0.05) between the two groups. To point out that the two groups both can improve BI scores, and have the same curative effect on it.5. Safety observation:Neither groups had adverse reaction such as fainting; benging of needle; breaking of needle or others during Acupuncture.ConclusionsBoth Bo’s Abdominal acupuncture therapy and Body acupuncture therapy have a marked therapeutic effect in patients who suffered from Unilateral Sensory Disturbance in Cerebrovascular Diseases. Bo’s Abdominal acupuncture has more advantage in improving the sensory function for Unilateral Sensory Disturbance in Cerebrovascular Diseases.
