Objective:To report the outcomes of tubes insertion for ventilation intreating secretory otitis media(SOM)in patients.、Methods:80case(s100ears)of SOM were randomly divided into twogroups: patients in light group and patients in obstinate group received tubeinsertion for water-spreading and tubes insertion for ventilation. Thetherapeutic effect between the two groups were comparer.Results:After6-12months follow-up, in light group, received tubesinsertion for ventilation, complete SOM resolution was achieved in24ears.and improvement in3ears, resulting in an efficiency rate of90%. receivedtube insertion for water-spreading,there was complete resolution in26earsand improve-ment in2ears, with an efficiency rate of93.3%. The differencesbetween different treatment outcomes was not statistically significant. Inobstinate group, received tubes insertion for ventilation, complete SOMresolution was achieved in3ears. and improvement in6ears, resulting in anefficiency rate of45%. received tube insertion for water-spreading, there wascomplete resolution in10ears and improve-ment in6ears, with an efficiencyrate of80%. The differences between different treatment outcomes wasstatistically significant. Conclusion: the tubes insertion for ventilation is well visible, minimal invasion, and quick recovery, and excellent curative effects, proves to be a simple, effective way for curing light secretory otitis media(SOM)inpatients.
