Objective: The thyroid cancer is one of the most common endocrine cancers. Atthe present, measurement of palpation, ultrasonic, ECT, needle cytology biopsy and soon are often used for diagnosing thyroid cancers,in which, the needle cytology biopsyis the best way to screen and early diagnose the thyroid cancer, however, there’resome false negative rates and partial unable diagnosed cases. So the study of the earlywarning molecules of the early diagnosis of thyroid cancer has the important clinicalsignificance. This paper mainly discusses on the role and significance of expression ofthe PTEN and P53in the formation and development of thyroid cancer, and thecorrelation with clinical pathological characteristics of the patients. At the same time, make analysis of the most common and family inheritance of thyroid papillary cancerin clinic. Methods: Select paraffin specimens which had the thyroid resection operation inthe thyroid surgery department from Jun.2007to Sep.2011in the first clinical collegeof Jilin University and archived in pathology department. Because of the lost anddivorce of the piece in the process of the experiments and the dyeing, so finally there’re149cases of PTEN (10cases of nodular goiter,11cases of thyroid adenoma,44casesof thyroid papillary cancer10cases of thyroid medullary cancer,10cases of thyroidfollicular cancer,9cases of thyroid undifferentiated cancer,44cases of thyroidpapillary paraneoplastic tissues,11cases of normal thyroid)and143cases of P53(10cases of nodular goiter,11cases of thyroid adenoma,43cases of thyroid papillarycancer10cases of thyroid medullary cancer,10cases of thyroid follicular cancer,9cases of thyroid undifferentiated cancer,43cases of thyroid papillary paraneoplastictissues,11cases of normal thyroid)can be used to analyze the results among the finalsamples. Detect the expression of PTEN and P53in the samples of thyroid tumor andnon-tumor tissues by immunohistochemical staining, analysis the correlation withclinical pathological characteristics of the thyroid tumors patients. Input the experimental data into EXCEL, and analysis it by SPSS13.0software.Results:(1) Expression of PTEN in thyroid cancers is obviously lower than thethyroid benign tumor(p <0.05); the positive expression rate of PTEN is increasedgradually in the thyroid cancer, thyroid benign tumor, normal thyroid tissues; thepositive expression rate of PTEN in the family inheritance of thyroid papillary canceris higher than those without family inheritance of thyroid papillary cancer(p <0.05);PTEN in thyroid cancer has no obvious relationship with age, sex (p <0.05).(2)Expression of P53in thyroid cancers is obviously higher than the thyroid benigntumor(p <0.05); the positive expression rate of P53is reduced gradually in thethyroid cancer, thyroid benign tumor, normal thyroid tissues; there’s no statisticalsignificant to compare between those with the family inheritance of thyroid papillarycancer and without family inheritance of thyroid papillary cancer(p <0.05);P53inthyroid cancer has no obvious relationship with age, sex(p <0.05).(3)There’s nocorrelation of expression between P53and PTNE in thyroid cancer(p <0.05).Conclusion:(1) PTEN and P53can be used as reference index to discern benign thyroidtumor from malignant.(2) PTEN can be used as reference index to discern the papillary thyroid canceris with inheritance or without.(3) PTHE and P53in thyroid cancer has no obvious relationship with age, sex.(4) There’s no correlation of expression between P53and PTNE in thyroidcancer.
