The Efficacy Of Phacoemulsification Combined With Scleral Bite Resection

The efficacy of phacoemulsification cataract surgery combined withscleral biteresection of acute angle-closure glaucoma and cataract surgeryObjective: To explore phacoemulsification cataract surgery, which iscombined with scleral biting resection to cure acute angle-closure glaucomaand cataract, including the problems of corneal astigmatism, visual acuity, inorder to correct visual acuity, intraocular pressure.Methord：The surgery of phacoemulsification cataract combined withscleral biteresection has been performed on30eyes of28patients. After onemonth, the removal of sclera cut suture was done. Before the surgery of usingIOL Master、seven days after the surgery、a week after the removal of sclera cutsuture、three months after the surgery of the astigmatism measurement; Beforeusing Japan TOPCON computer measuring instrument seven days after thesurgery、a week after the removal of sclera cut suture、three months after thesurgery of visual acuity and visual acuity correcting; Before using JapanNT-2000nidek, a week after the removal of sclera cut suture、three months afterthe surgery to get the intraocular pressure.Result：The preoperative astigmatism was0.63±0.29.A week later, theastigmatism was2.75±0.37D. Compared with the preoperative, there wassignificant difference（p﹤0.01）. The astigmatism was0.9±0.36D after removalof sclera cut suture. There was no significant difference compared with thepreoperative（p﹤0.01）. The astigmatism was0.66±0.29D after three months.There was no significant difference compared with the preoperative (P>0.05).The naked visualacuity and corrected visualacuity were both better thanpreoperation. After operation, the seven days’ observation, a week later of dismantling scleral cut suture and three months observation, the postoperativeIOP was controlled stably in the normal rangeConclusions：After the phacoemulsification cataract surgery combinedwith scleral biteresection, patients’ eyes will have astigmatism in the beginning.The patients’ vision with corneal astigmatism can be gradually reduced withtime after suture removal after one month. Three months after the surgery, theastigmatism and preoperative is basically the same as preopertaion. Earlypostoperative visual acuity is improved in obvious, but the best corrected visualacuity is after3months’ surgery. The intraocular pressure intraocular pressuredid not change after suture removal.
