Objective:To investigate the relationship between ankle brachial index and serum adiponectin in type2diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and type2diabetes mellitus with hypertension, and to discuss the related factors of them.Methods:1)We recruited88patients of T2DM and T2DM with hypertension from Department of Endocrinology, the Secondly Affiliated Hospital of ShanXi Medical College, according to the criteria of T2DM and the hypertension grading proposed by WHO in1999. The patients were divided into two groups on the basis of blood pressure.(Systolic blood pressure>140mmHg, Diastolic blood pressure>90mmHg).2) Blood pressure(BP), ankle brachial index(ABI), fasting blood glucose (FBG),2hours postprandial blood glucose (2hPBG). glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), triglyceride (TG), cholesterol (TC), high density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL), serum adiponectin (APN) were measured.Results:1) The result showed that ankle brachial index (ABI) in T2DM with hypertension group was less than that in the T2DM group (P<0.05).2) The level of serum adiponectin in group of type2diabetic with hypertension was lower than that in T2DM group. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:Ankle brachial index and serum adiponectin could indicate the diabetic macroangiopathy. Adiponectin was a protected factor of the diabetic macroangiopathy.
