Objective: To evaluate salivary gland mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the surgical specimens and lymph node metastases in bcl-2, nm23abnormal expression of mucoepidermoid carcinoma with clinical stage, histological grade and lymph node metastasis and the correlation.Methods:Specimens from the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from2005to2010admitted patients with salivary gland mucoepidermoid carcinoma archived paraffin block in45cases, normal salivary gland tissue in10cases.Each specimens were confirmed by pathology experts.Using Application Envision PV-6000Power Vision TM two-step determination of bcl-2and nm23in normal salivary glands, mucoepidermoid carcinoma and lymph node metastasis tissues.The statistical software used SPSS17.0, taking P<0.05was considered statistically significant.bcl-2, nm23in mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the clinical parameters between the X2test was used to compare expression; two indices in the correlation analysis using Spearman rank correlation.Results:1.bcl-2expression in MEC samples, mainly in the cell membrane and cytoplasm.The expression level in the MEC (66.7%) was significantly higher than that of normal salivary glands (0%), P<0.05was statistically significant, suggesting that bcl-2involved in the development of MEC’s.Its level of expression with sex (P=0.223), the age (P=0.251), the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05).With the degree of tumor differentiation, size and clinical stage, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); high expression rates were in the low in well differentiated, respectively72.2%,85.7%,38.4%; T1+T2and T3+T4high expression rates were45.5%,86.9%; clinical stage Ⅰ+Ⅱ and Ⅲ+Ⅳ of the high expression rates were52.6%,76.9%; shows that the higher the histological grade, the higher the degree of malignancy,more rapid tumor growth, invasion, has a higher degree of hypoxia, a more obvious expression of bcl-2.nm23specimens mainly expressed in the MEC in the cytoplasm and plasma membrane, in the lymph node metastasis of primary carcinoma of the level (23.7%) was significantly lower than that without lymph node metastasis in primary carcinoma (66.5%), P <0.05statisticallysignificance; its level of expression with sex (P=0.223), the age (P=0.251), the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). With the degree of tumor differentiation, size and clinical stage, the difference was statistically significant (P>0.05); high expression rates were in the low in well differentiated, respectively25%,56.2%,66.7%; T1+T2and T3+T4high expression rates were30.4%,18.2%; clinical stage Ⅰ+Ⅱ and Ⅲ+Ⅳ of the high expression rates were78.9%,38.5%; and in group with lymph node metastasis and without lymph node metastasis MEC MEC groupthe difference was significant (P<0.05).3.bcl-2and nm23expression in MEC was positively correlated (rs=0.411, P>0.05).Conclusion:bcl-2in the abnormal expression and tumor differentiation, size and TNM stage, nm23in mucoepidermoid carcinoma of lymph node metastases play an important role.bcl-2and nm23was detected in salivary gland mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the better molecular markers, could be used for mucoepidermoid cancer diagnosis and prognosis.
