| Objective:To investigate the correlation between serum uric acid (SUA) and atrial fibrillation(AF).Method:One hundred and fifty-eight patients with AF(fifty-four patients with paroxysmal AF, fifty-four patients with persistent AF, fifty patients with permanent AF), who were hospitalized in Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University from December2010to August2011,were collected in the study, and50patients without AF were regarded as the control group. The baseline clinical data were detected including age, gender, risk factors of cardiology diseases, echocardiography, drugs, conventional inflammatory markers and serum uric acid level. Using the logistic regression analysis to adjust the confounding factors and to explore the relationship between the UA,HUA and AF.Results:Significant variances in SUA and HUA were evident between patients with AF(371.2±90.1μmmol/L,41.8%), persistent AF(384.0±85.7μ mmol/L,42.6%).permanent AF(412.5±84.4u mmol/L,66%) and control group (302.5±62.4u mmol/L,12%)(p<0.05).After multivariate logistic regression analysis, only age, LAD and hs-CRP were significantly associated with paroxysmal AF(ORage=1.182,ORLAD=1.133,ORhs-CRP=l-214,p<0.05), only age, LAD, hs-CRP, SUA and HUA were significantly associated with AF(ORage=1.177,ORLAD=1.133,ORhs.CRP=1.214,ORsuA-1.387,ORHUA=1.751,p<0.05) persistent AF(ORage=1.384,ORLAD=1.351,ORhs.cRP=1.427,ORsuA=1.451,ORHuA=1.764,p<0.05),and permanent AF(ORage=1.215,ORLAD=1.218,ORhs-cRP=1.461,ORsuA=L616,ORHuA=1.862,p<0.05).Conclusions:There is an association between SUA and AF including paroxysmal AF,persistent AF and permanent AF. There is an relationship between SUA and persistent AF permanent AF.There is no relationship between SUA and paroxysmal AF.SUA may be an independent risk factor of persistent AF and permanent AF. |
