Objective:The coal worker’s pneumoconiosis rabbits model was copied, and prove it’s feasibility andpracticability; To compare HRCT features of rabbits with Coal pneumoconiosis and it’s pathological results, and to explore their relationship. Methods:Forty rabbits were randomly divided into experimental group and control group .Twenty five rabbitsIntracheal injection of coal particles was applied 100mg/ml solution 2 ml/kg for experimental group . thena week interval, give the same doses again.Fifteen rabbits Intracheal injection of Physiological saline the samedose chosen as blank controls. At 2 weeks and months of 1, 2, 3, 5 after injecting suspension, CT scanning wasperformed in each group, and the images of high resolution computerized tomography ( HRCT) wererestablished.Images were reconstructed from the apex of the lung to the base with 2.0-mm thickness and0.6-mm interval, and with window settings appropriate for assessment of pulmonary parenchyma(level,-500Hu;width,1350Hu).We record the images of GGO, eonsolidation, nodule,Pleuralthiekening On CTimages.Lung tissues were stained by haemato Xylin and eosin or by Masson’s triehrome. On each Pathologic slide,5field of vision were selected at random,Then give the evaluation of coal and other lung nodules, the level ofthe alveolar inflammation, fibrosis and limitations emphysema at the standed on Szapiel’s.Results:The rabbit lungs exposed to coal dust which showed many black dust spots was about 1-3mm indiameter, which focus around the bronchial. Coal-dust deposited in lung interstitium. Fibroblasts proliferated.Consistent with the pathologic finding ,CT showed the pulmonary lesions aggravated progressively. In theearly stage , pathologic change involoved a markedly exudative lesion, which tended to localizing and showedtypical fibrosis-like shadows and GGO and resulting from edema and cell infiltration pathologically and theexudate from the alveolar. In the middle-late stage, with the extent of fibrosis expending, tractivebronchiolectasis occurring, coal nodules scattered in the Interstitial. markedly proliferating fibrosis unregularlyscattered among the lung parenchyma. Some of the respective Pleural have lesions. In the 2 weeks grouprs=0.812,P<0.001;1 month group rs=0.795,P<0.001,2month group rs=0.841,P<0.001,3month grouprs=0.644,P=0.002,5 month group rs=0.681,P=0.001. The MSCT image related with Pathologie to someextent. These changes could not be observed in the controls. Conclusions:Results suggested that the model made by trachea spile were simple, Save and without beinginjured; The progress of pathological changes could be observed and detected by CT in Coal pneumoconiosisrabbits. The MSCT image related with Pathologie to some extent.
