| Objectivc:To evaluate the efficacy and safty of indomethacin therapy in the treatment of polyhydramnios by means of a meta-analysis.Methods:A full recursive literature search was conducted in the cochrane controlled trials register databases,Pubmed,Web of knowledge CBMdisc,CNKI and VIP,WANFANG DATABASE from their inception to december2011.Relevant journals were also hand searched. We collected randomized controlled trials(RCT) of indomethacin therapy in treatment of polyhydramnios. Two reviewers independently extracted the data and analyzed them in Revman Manager software.Results:3RCTs involving138eligible patients were included. The meta-analyses showed that:(1) The success rate: Indomethacin for the treatment of polyhydramnios compared with the control group is valid.(2)Cesarean section rate: Cesarean section rate was no significant difference between the two groups.(3)Oligohydramnios rate:Oligohydramnios rate was no significant difference between the two groups.(4)Complications:there is statistical difference between treatment group and control group in complications.(5)neonatal outcome:compared to treatment of indomethacin with control group showed no statistical difference.Conclutions:The limited evidence suggests that indomethacin for the treatment of polyhydramnios had significant efficacy. Not enough evidence to prove for indomethacin can reduce the cesarean section rate, incidence of complications and improve neonatal outcomes. |
