Effect Evaluation Of2-year Comprehensive Oral Preventive Intervention For Pupil In Shinan District Of Qingdao

Objective:To investigate the caries status of children from9-year-old students in Shinan district of Qingdao, and to evaluate3-year comprehensive intervention effect for caries;To compare effects of three kinds of model of oral health education which included education of health education base, self-study education by video and self-study education by graphic information.Methods:1.7and9years old students, lived in Shinan urban area,Sifang urban area and Laixi suburb,were investigated caries status of deciduous and permanent tooth.Shinan,Sifang and Laixi students were regarded as experimental group,urban and rural contrast group respectively.9schools were included in sample size,which amounted to1403.①Caries rates of deciduous and the first permanent tooth,and those dmft and DMFT were investigated,which belonged to7-year-old Shinan students not underwent intervention and two contrast groups students in the same age period.②Difference of caries rates of deciduous and the first permanent tooth, those dmft and DMFT,and rates of deciduous teeth caries filling,and rates of pit and fissure sealant of the first permanent tooth,which belonged to9-year-old Shinan students of experimental group underwent intervention after two years and two contrast groups students in the same age period.2.The second grade of primary school students In Shinan district were randomly selected,who were from three schools of similar education level and aged7-8years old,.There were12classes,which amounted to511students.They were randomly divided into4groups and carried out3kinds of oral health education. One group of students visited the health education base, and were taught the basic knowledge and oral health knowledge,,and practiced brushing tooth in teaching room;one group of students watched education video; one group of students made self-study education by graphic information.;the last group was regarded as normal control group.Four groups of students were studied their rate of formatting health knowledge and rate of understanding health behavior after one month,and the results were compared by questionnaires.Their oral health status were investigated by plaque staining.Result:1.7-year-old students of3districts did not have statistical difference in all index observed (P>0.05); Experimental group9-year-old students were no significantly different from the two control groups ones in rate of deciduous dental caries are caries and dmft,except for rate of deciduous tooth filling (P<0.05).Caries rate of the first permanent tooth and DMFT also descended (P<0.05).9-year-old students of experimental group showed significantly higher rates of pit and fissure sealant of the first permanent tooth compared with two contrast groups (P<0.01).2. After three different ways of health education, observing objects had improved compared with before the intervention in most ways in rate of understanding oral health knowledge, rate of formatting health behavior formation and rate of forming health attitude. The differences had statistical significance (P<0.05).Plaque index in group of the health education base and the video group has descended compared with before the intervention (P<0.05), and had no change in self-study group and control group (P>0.05). Comparing effects in three groups, health education base showed effect more significantly (P<0.05) and more students prepared to select health education base as their ways of oral health education (P<0.01)Conclusion::Effect of2-year comprehensive caries preventive intervention was showed efficiently..Education method of oral health education base showed more efficiently.
