| Objective:Through the analysis of the main causes of death and burden of disease among residents in Qingdao Chengyang district during2005-2009, master the main health problem and cause of death that affect the local population and provide a reference frame for reasonable configuration and health planning of health resources in Chengyang district. Methods:The causes of death are classified and coded according to ICD-10and the standard population is based on the national population census data in2000. Excel2003and SPSS16.0are used for statistic analysis and standardized rate is calculated by direct method. In order to understand the characteristic of death structure among residents, aspects including mortality, standardized mortality, cause-specific mortality rate, proportional mortality rate, life expectancy and Potential Years of Life Lost (PYLL) are analysed.Result:The accumulative death population of Chengyang district during2005-2009was14991, with an average annual crude mortality rate of615.29/100,000and a standardized mortality rate of418.73/100,000, which were lower than the average level in Shandong province and the nationwide. The first three chief causes of death in men, women and chief population were circulatory system diseases, malignant tumor, injuries and toxicosis, which resulted a number of11662deaths during5years and accounted for77.79%by structure of death cause. The leading three causes of death accounting for PYLL in total population were malignant tumor, injuries and toxicosis and circulatory system diseases. PLYY caused by malignant tumor is35569per year, accounting for36.23%of all deaths, which is the leading cause of loss of labor forces. People older than65years accounted for69.35%of all deaths. Circulatory system disease is the leading cause of death in old people, which accounted for49.45%of this age. Standardized mortality ratio (487.32/100,000) of men is1.37times than women (355.87/100,000),meanwhile, life expectancy in men is75.62years old, which is5.62years less than women (81.24years old). Conclusion:The health level in Chengyang district is relatively high but the harm of non-communicable chronic diseases, injury and poisoning is outstanding, which is the key of disease prevention and control in the future. Monitoring and prevention and cure of non-communicable chronic diseases and risk factors should be enhanced. As the old and men are more likely threatened by diseases, government and the whole society should pay more attention to this and establish as well as perfect a scientific and reasonable control strategy. |
