A Comparative Study Of The Treatment Of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury: Single-bundle Reconstruction Versus Double-bundle Reconstruction

Objective:To compare the clinical outcomes of double-bundle anterior cruciateligament reconstruction with that of single-bundle reconstruction,and make an objectiveevaluation.Methods: In this resrarch a total of thirty patients with unilateral anterior cruciateligament injuries were collected. Both of them were treated in the orthopedics ward ofYanAn University Affiliated Hospital. According to the doctod’s suggestion,patients’condition and wishes,all the patients were divided into two groups. In group A15cases were treated with single-bundle reconstruction. In group B15cases weretreated with double-bundle reconstruction.All operations were done by the sameorthopedist. Filled the IKDC subjective knee evaluation form and Lysholm scale when3months,6months and9months. And make statistics analysis，to evaluate theclinical value of the two methods.Results: There were no statistics differences of the age、sex ratio、IKDC andLysholm scores between the two groups preoperatively. At3months postoperatively,both IKDC and Lysholm scores were higher than those of preoperatively.But there wereno significant differences between the two groups (P=0.458and P=0.857, respectively).At6months postoperatively, both IKDC and Lysholm scores were higher than those of3months’.But there were no significant differences between the two groups (P=0.387and P=0.938respectively). At9months postoperatively, both IKDC and Lysholm scoreswere higher than those of6months’.But there were no significant differences between the two groups (P=0.265and P=0.587respectively).Conclusion: Compare to the single-bundle anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction,double-bundle reconstruction has no advantage in improving IKDC and Lysholm scores.Both of them can well reconstructive knee’s stability and improve the patients’ qualityof life.
