Objective To explore the prospective memory impairment and the different damageeffect of positive or negative symptoms in schizophrenia.Methods Fifty-eight college student and sixty-two schizophrenia patients wereadopted in the double task model experiment with word and image material. Theexperiment was made up of introduction, practice, interruption task, memory test,recognition test.Results (1) The prospective memory accuracy rate of the control was significantlysuperior to the experimental group,with a quicker performance on ongoing task.(2) Theprospective memory accuracy rate of written materials is significantly superior toimage materials on the experimental group.(3)Patients with Olanzapine wassignificantly shorter than Risperidone on reaction time of ongoing task,while higerperformance on accuracy rate with image materials.(4) No significantly difference hadfound that the accuracy rate and reaction time in both ongoing task and prospectivememory task with sex or age level.(5) No significantly difference had found that theaccuracy rate and reaction time in both ongoing task and prospective memory task withpositive and negative symptoms.(6)No distinct correlations had found between age,years of education, admission duration, positive or negative symptoms with on goingtask and prospective memory task.Conclusions (1)The prospective memory of schizophrenia is significantly poor thanthe college students.(2) Writing material is more conducive to keep prospectivememory of patients with schizophrenia than image materials.(3) The influence ofAntipsychotic Drugs to patients with schizophrenia’s prospective memory is notclear.(4)There is no distinct correlations between age,years of education, admissionduration, positive or negative symptoms with prospective memory.
