Cleaning device is the important part of pepper harvester. The function of cleaning unit affect the working performance, separated result, productivity and economic effectiveness of the pepper harvester. The dirt percentage and cleaning lost ratio of cleaning device are the key indicators for evaluating the quality of pepper harvester. The factor of affecting cleaning function is so many. So it is very important to get the reasonable constitute form of cleaning device to achieve the favourable separating result.The subject has introduced domestic and overseas research dynamic and development of separating device and pepper harvester. Study the separating principle of material. By a large number tests, measure the cleaning characteristic of pepper mixture, including its mechanical characteristic and aerodynamics characteristic, which provide foundation for the study of separating device, the building of materiel virtual model and designing draught fan. Design the total star whell and airflow combined separating device and its parts, including star whell, rack and fan. The three-dimensional models of pepper separating device was established by three-dimensional solid modeling software-Soildworks. And the three-dimensional models was guided into the software ADAMS. Then add the virtual prototype model of pepper and stalk for the virtual trial. By the result of the virtual trial, find the best structural parameters and working parameters. When the space between star wheel is185mm, the row spacing of wheel is150mm and the rotate speed of roll shaft is160r/min, the separating unit can get the best separating effect. Finally emulate and analyse the movement condition of material at the best suitable parameter of working parameters to gain the curve of movement track, velocity and accelerated speed of pepper and stalk. Study the movement condition of pepper mixture in flow field and deducing the movement differential equation of material in airflow. Study the influence of airflow velocity to material movement by ADAMS. And finally get the desirable flow rate.When the flow rate is8m/s, the peppers can not be blowed out. Check the exactness of parameter by emulating and analysing the movement condition of materia in the flow by ADAMS.This subject is on the basis of abundant study of pepper materials, designed reasonaly the pepper separating device. Through utilize advanced simulation software to carry on a simulation and virtual experiment study, and select the best woking parameters and structural parameters. These works give helps to design and develop the cleaning device of pepper harverster.
