The drought resistance and salt tolerance of the hybrid BC1F3between Elymus dahu-ricus and Hordeum brevisubulatum at seedling and germination stage were studied. Rela-tive water content, relative cell membrane permeability, free proline, chlorophyll content, rate of germination, germination energy et al, was determined. The correlation among the indexes of the drought resistance and salt tolerance at seedling stage was analyzed, the dr-ought resistance and salt tolerance at seedling and germination stage were evaluated with fuzzy subordinate function method respectively. The grey correlative degree of indexes and drought resistance and salt tolerance were researched. The results indicated:(1) The droug-ht resistant capability of BC1F3lines was in order of Elymus dahuricus>YF3-3> YF3-31>YF3-2>YF3-53>YF3-74>Hordeum brevisubulatum>YF3-76at seedling stage, Elymus dah-uricus>YF3-3>YF3-31>YF3-2>YF3-53>YF3-74>Hordeum brevisubulatum> YF3-76at germination stage. The drought resistance of Elymus dahuricus and YF3-53was stronger.(2)The salt tolerance of BC1F3lines was in order of Hordeum brevisubulatum>YF3-2> YF3-3>YF3-53>YF3-31>YF3-76>YF3-74>Elymus dahuricus at seedling stage, YF3-53> YF3-76>YF3-3>YF3-31> YF3-74>Hordeum brevisuboletus> YF3-2>Elymus dahuricus at germination stage, the salt tolerance of YF3-3and YF3-53was stronger.(3)Relative growth rate, free proline content, chlorophyll content and relative water content were significantly correlated to drought resistance, and there were not significant differences among indexes, which can be used as the important indexes for drought resis-tance evaluation of the mate-rials; Relative growth rate, free proline content and relative water content can be used as the important indexes for salt tolerance evaluation of the materials.
