This study has done inoculation experiment and disease nursery experiment on theintroduced pepper varieties, the aims are screening out disease resistant resources, providingexcellent rootstock for grafting pepper. We have chosen different grafting methods andregarded survival rate as the index, filtering out suitable pepper grafting method, based on this,we have done research on disease resistance and yield increase effect of grafting pepper. Theresults are as follows:1. The inoculation experiment and disease nursery experiment showed that theperformance of seven peppers (4,6,9,25,26,27,79) in31dried pepper and line peppervarieties is consistent in the inoculation resistance identification and disease nurseryevaluation test, which belong to the high resistant varieties. There are no high resistantvarieties in38horn pepper varieties and10sweet pepper varieties.2. In five grafting approaches, the survival rate of pepper with cleave-plat-clamped ofgrafting approach was high to98.1%, that with inclined-cut valve-core of grafting approachwas93.67%, that with inclined-cut round-clamped of grafting approach was78.6%, that withcleave-packaged of grafting approach was60.42%,and that with inclined-cut-needled ofgrafting approach was17.53%. Therefore, we determine cleave-plat-clamped of graftingapproach and inclined-cut valve-core of grafting approach as the project pepper graftingapproach.3. Planting grafting pepper to perennial planting pepper’s greenhouse, investigating thesituation of epidemic diseases during Pepper growing period. The result showed thatcompared with long pepper in Ledu, the incidence of disease of grafting rootstock1,2,3islower, while the incidence in Ledu is higher. The investigation during pepper later growingstage indicated that the disease incidence of grafting rootstock1was2.74~5.03%, thedisease incidence of grafting rootstock2was0.97~4.08%, the disease incidence of graftingrootstock3was1.24%, while the disease incidence of long pepper in Ledu was75%~100%,which is in control group. The results showed that the grafting pepper can effectivelycontrol the occurrence of Pepper Phytophthora, it can reduce the disease incidence rate tobelow6%.4. Transplanting the grafting pepper to perennial planting pepper’s greenhouse, the yieldis significantly higher than the long pepper who is in control group, which adequately reflects the effect of grafting rootstock’s increased production. Per mu yield is3908.44to4088.43kg,compared with the control one(long pepper), increased more than47.93%.5. The analysis of grafting pepper’s fruit quality indicated that there are no obviousdifferences between grafting rootstock1,2,3and long pepper in Ledu, grafting rootstock1,2,3does not change long pepper’s original quality, which are excellent rootstock varieties andsuitable for Ledu long pepper grafting and promoting in the production of large area.
