Pepper?Capsicum annuum L?,a genus of Solanaceae,is an annual or limited perennial herb.Pepper is rich in nutrients,and vitamin C content ranks first in vegetables.As an indispensable condiment,pepper is commonly grown in China.However,the continuous cropping obstacles in pepper cultivation are serious.Grafting is widely used in pepper cultivation as a means of effectively overcoming continuous cropping and relieving pepper diseases.Grafting compatibility is the key to graft success and normal development in late stage of grafting.In this study,the compatibility of eighty kinds of pepper grafted combinations was evaluated,and the grafted combinations were divided into three categories:compatibility combination,compatible medium combination and incompatible combination.Two grafting combinations were selected for each type of grafting combination and a total of six groups were used as test materials.The morphology,photosynthetic characteristics,endogenous hormones,root characteristics,histology of the grafted surface,and genetic relationship of the grafted combination with different compatibility of pepper were studied.Explore the mechanism of pepper graft compatibility.The main results are as follows:1.The different compatibility between the scion of pepper rootstock affects the morphological development of the late grafted seedlings.Compared to the good compatibility of the anvil combinations,the incompatible grafted seedlings are prone to stagnation of growth or the growth of the scion.2.Photosynthetic rate and photosynthetic activity of capsicum will increase after grafting,but photosynthesis of BQ/LI and YLM/4,which has a good compatibility to the rootstock combination,is more obvious.The promotion of photosynthesis in ZB/2and TAN/LI is not obvious,and the situation of coercion is even more serious.3.The endogenous hormones IAA,CTK,GA3 of grafted seedlings were positively correlated with grafting compatibility and negatively correlated with ABA.IAA plays an important role in promoting callus formation and vascular bundle connection.CTK and GA3 play an important role in callus proliferation,differentiation and information communication.ABA may be related to the differentiation of catheter molecules.4.From the trend of relative conductivity,the combination of ZB/2 and TAN/LI leaf cells with low grafting affinity was severely stressed during callus differentiation and vascular bundle connection,and the root activity is relatively weak,and the transport capacity of mineral elements and water is weak.5.According to the results of paraffin section observation,the grafting surfaces of BQ/LI and YLM/4 with good compatibility disappeared easily during the healing period,and the exchange of callus was smooth.With the incompatible combination ZB/2,TAN/nLI will form a thick isolation iayer,and the Isolation layer will not disappear,hindering the exchange of the rootstock spikes.6.The familiarity of pepper varieties were determined and the compatibility of grafted rootstocks was compared.It was found that the genetic distance between the scions of rootstocks was negatively correlated with the degree of grafting affinity.The cluster analysis of the dendrogram showed that the compatible grafting combinations,the genetic relationship between the scions and the rootstocks were relatively close,and the incompatible combination of the rootstocks and panicles.The genetic relationship is relatively far.
