Bacterium of Lactobacillus is benefit to the health of human and animals. It could keep the balance of enterobacteria, regulate immunization, promote metabolism, and so on. Currently, there are lots of research reported that Lactobacillus its metabolic products and its cell-free extract had the function of anti-lipid peroxidative and clear peroxide hydroxy radical. Recent study conformed many diseases had relationship with free radical. free radical had been a issue of threating the heath of human and animals. Consequently, anti-oxidant activity in vitro and effect to antioxidase in CEF infected with IBV of Lactobacillus was studied to prove the anti-infection viral action.Contents and methods:1. The DPPH free radical clearance, hydroxy radical clearance and reduction ability of20strain of Lactobacillus were compared, which were isolated from chicken intestines.2.6strains of Lactobacillus chosen for their higher anti-oxidant activity were used for following trial. Tolerance to gastric juice and bile salts of in manual simulation gastrointestinal tract condition, detecting the contents of SOD, GSH-Px and MDA in CEF infected by IBV.Result:1. All the isolated had high anti-oxidant activity and reduction ability. DPPH clearance was57%--62%. Hydroxyl Radical clearance was43%~94%. L3, L7, L9, L10, L12and L17had higher anti-oxidant activity than the other.2. The6strains of had determinate tolerance to bile salts and gastric juice in in manual simulation gastrointestinal tract condition. The result indicated that Lactobacillus could play normal function in gastrointestinal, which might have potential application value. IBV caused oxidative damage by reducing SOD and GSH-Px and increasing MDA in CEF. Lactobacillus metabolites could increase the activity of SOD and GSH-Px to promote anti-oxidant activity of CEF without infected by IBV. And contents of MDA in normal CEF was lower than CEF infected by IBV. When Lactobacillus metabolites and IBV add in CEF at the same time, the activity of SOD was evidently raised than the CEF added IBV only (P<0.01), contents of MDA evidently reduced than the CEF added IBV only (P<0.01),but higher than control group. No differences in the GSH-Px activity between the two groups. It indicated that SOD play the main anti-oxidant activity at this condition. The result manifested that the6strains of Lactobacillus raised the total anti-oxidant activity evidently (P<0.01), and reduced the contents of MDA(P<0.01).In conclusion, Lactobacillus could not only secreted enzymes and nonenzyme anti-oxidant material to clear free radical, but also stimulated the cell had been infected by virus to product more active material to clear free radical and reduced the damage caused by free radical oxidation.
