Mesona chinensis Benth., one species of Mesona genus, which belongs to Family Labiatae, is an annual herbaceous plant. It is one of the main materials for producing herbal tea and jelly in the southern region of China. To understand and compare the physiological characteristics and genetic relationship of different Germplasm Resources of Mesona chinensis, this study includes four parts as follows:(1) Determination of the diurnal variation of photosynthesis and the light response curve of6Mesona Species;(2) Effect of different collection period on content and quality of MBG for6Mesona Species;(3) Effect of the different ration of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium on content of MBG;(4) SCoT and ISSR Analysis of Genetic Diversity of7germplasm resources of Mesona chinensis. The research shows the results as follows:1. Lingshan Small-leaf can adapt to high light intensity because of the highest light compensation and saturation point; Because of the lowest light compensation point, Vietnam Mesona can adapt to weak light; Because of the highest photosynthetic quantum, efficiency can still keep high photosynthetic abilities under weak light.2. The suitable collecting time of Mesona is the late period of vegetative growth before the flower bud differentiation period.In reproductive growth period, Quality of gel in flower bud differentiation period is better than that in the middle and late flowering period.3. Recommending the dosage:N-0.208g/kg, P2O5-0.121g/kg, K2O-0.119g/kg, convering to31.2kg/mu,18.15kg/mu,17.85kg/mu, and forecasting the yield rate of MBG can reach to36.20%, dry-weight yield can reach to34.232g per pot.4. The results showed SCoT and ISSR can amplify rich polyinorphic loci. In contrast, More polymorphic loci were detected by SCoT. The classification results of two molecular markers were similar. Genetic similarity coefficient between Sanjia Mesona and Wuzhou Mesona was the biggest both for SCoT and ISSR.
