To investigate nutritional effects and immune function of Achyranthes bidentata polysaccharides (ABPS) on grass carps, five test groups were used, which consisted of control group,0.05%,0.10%,0.20%and0.40%ABPS addition group.375grass carps with average body weight (79.7+2.4) g were randomly allocated to five groups with three replicates and with25grass carps in each replicate and were fed for65d.Results are as bellow:1. The viscerosomatic index was increased significantly in0.20%and0.40%(p<0.05),and0.20%was the best level;but the composition of the liver was not significantly affected(p>0.05);the body moisture and crude protein had the highest content in0.20%level,but the difference was not significant(p>0.05);the content of crude fat was significantly increased in all levels(p<0.05),but0.40%had the most significant effect; the activities of intestinal protease, amylase and foregut lipase had the most significant differerce compared with the control group in the0.20%level(p<0.05),the activities of midgut lipase was the highest in0.20%level,too,but the difference was not significant(p>0.05).2.In0.10%level,the spleen somatic index was significantly higher than other groups(p<0.05);all the levels did not significantly affected the number of NBT positive cells(p>0.05),but the number of NBT positive cells in0.20%level was maximum; in0.20%level,T3,T4and Glu of serum were all increased, but did not achieve significant results (p>0.05);in0.40%level,TP and INS were reached to significant effect (p<0.05),and ALB was reached to maximum, but did not achieve a significant effect (p>0.05);in0.20%group,TNF-a,SOD.ACP and LSZ were reached to maximum and achieved significant difference (p<0.05),MDA was reached to minimum, and also showed significant difference (p <0.05), IL-1and CAT was maximum, but the differences were not significant (p>0.05);in0.40%level,ALP was reached to maximum and showed significant difference (p<0.05), IL-6was also reached to maximum.but the difference was not significant (p>0.05).3.Through a comprehensive analysis of the above conclusions, author draw that adding 0.20%Achyranthes bidentata polysaccharides to the basal diet of grass carp could significantly increase nutritional effects and immune function of grass carp.
