The barley malt is the main raw material of beer brewing. The taste, the flavor, the nutrition and other qualities are affected by the malt qualities. The development of beer industry and the quality of barley is attached more and more, which need to breed barley varieties with better quality and requires to strengthen the genetic study of germplasm. Therefore, it is of meaningful to understanding the genetic effects of barley quality and its QTL localization. In the study, the188DH population which constructed for genetic mapping were made from the Noso Nijo and Tai xing9425. The quantitative trait locus(QTLs) controlled the main malt quality traits(the malt extract, viscosity, alpha amino nitrogen, total nitrogen, soluble nitrogen, Kalbach index, diastatic power)with the software MapQTL5.0. The main results and conclusions are described as following.1. Investigation and analysis of the7malting traits which are malt extract, viscosity, alpha amino nitrogen, total nitrogen, soluble nitrogen, Kalbach index, diastatic power of two parents and DH lines, The results indicate that the DH lines showed a continuous distribution and have super-pro-type. That traits were quantitative traits controlled by multiple genes, suitable for QTL analysis. On malt quality traits correlation analysis, malt extract with alpha amino nitrogen, total nitrogen, soluble nitrogen, Kalbach index were not significant related. Other traits were significant or highly significant related.2.20additive QTLs were detested, of which genetic contribution rate were between5.7%-40.4%, including2for malt extract on the2H and4H chromosomes;3for viscosity on the1H,5H and7H chromosomes;4for diastatic power on the2H, 3H,5H and7H chromosomes;3for alpha amino nitrogen on the3H,4H and7H chromosomes;2for total nitrogen on the2H and3H chromosomes;2for soluble nitrogen on the3H and7H chromosomes;4for Kalbach index on the1H,2H,5H and4H chromosomes. The contribution rate and LOD rate that on chromosomes2H, between the markers bpb7498and bpb4821were highest.
