In September of2011, the inspection group of Department of Agriculturepublished, Hybrid Rice technology has been reached a brand peak for the averageoutput got926.6kilos per666.6kilometers guided by Yuan Long ping. This breaksworld record in the hybrid rice history.The possibility of Hybrid Rice techniques from beginning to the success hadbeen experienced the complex historical environment, and contained the efforts ofnumerous scientists with their sweat for the dedication and research. Therefore,China became the first country which breaks through a lot of difficult. The formationof the technique is original and duplicated, especially for our food security andagricultural productivity with great significance.China is a major grain-producing country, is also a food consumer. As the firstproductivity,Agriculture is our country’s basic industries. China’s food productionand supply and demand market related to China’s problem of feeding1.3billionpeople. Food security is not only the basis of national security strategy, but also thelifeline of political security. The study of hybrid rice breeding created a new era ofrice cultivation successfully, and increased the grain yield greatly, which caneffectively alleviate the conflict between the growing population and limited land. Tosome extent, that could solve the world’s food shortage problem.In the development of hybrid rice, the research team led by Yuan Longpingexperienced for over half a century after a long research process, and overcomenumerous technical difficulties, then broke two key breeding and seed productionobstacles, to achieve three major leap forward and historical turning points. First,broke the traditional theory of the restricted area that is “rice is not heterosis”, andused the classical Mendelian genetics knowledge, then began the “three-line”technology of hybrid rice research in the country. All kinds ofnews reports from people communications, data links and dynamic information,historical detail description of the facts reported, and different angles to capture thevalue of material. Especially concentrated in several reports organized by the CentralPropaganda Department, had been carefully excavated Yuan Longping and otherscientists for their scientific spirit, scientific thinking, and the formation of hybridrice research and the effects. It is proved that Mr. Yuan has gained the image, hybridrice research team has been known and the results have been breeding the early use ofthe scale.At present, hybrid rice breeding research has made considerable progress, andalso been a large area of promotion and application. However, due to the complexinternational situation, China is faced with the urgent issue of food security. Topromote strong advantages of hybrid rice is one effective way to enhance the abilityof China’s grain production, food security. Hybrid Rice technology research can notbe stagnant, which should be supported by all levels of government, science andtechnology departments to provide policy and financial supply. It is going to befurther spread of hybrid rice technology popularization, and mode of transmissionshould also be further innovation. The driving force for technological innovationshould be focusing on scientific thought brought spiritual wealth and materialtransformation.It is foreseeable that new varieties of hybrid rice breeding will continue to serveas demonstration projects to implement major technological innovation. Thedissemination of its successful experience will be applied to agricultural technologypromotion and other research technologies. The most important of the experience will build new platform for our science technological achievements into application.
