Trial1:The study of reproductive performance of Jianli sowsThe objective of this study was to reveal the effects of parity on the reproductive performance according the observation on40litters of each parity from1st to5th. The results showed that the lowest reproductive performance was observed in the1st parity Jianli sows. The main reproductive performances were total piglets born, live piglets born,30d weaning piglets and average birth weight,20d average individual weight,30d average weaned individual weight. The piglet numbers and individual weight begin to increase gradually after2nd parity. The4th parity Jianli sows was the highest reproductive performances. The piglet numbers of4th parity were above12numbers. But the total piglets born, live piglets born,30d weaning piglets and average birth weight,20d average individual weight of5th parity begin to decrease. There was not significant difference in survival rate among different parity.Trial:2The study on production and meat quality of Jianli sows and its different cross combinationThe objective of this trial was to study the difference of production and meat quality between Jianli sows and it’s different cross combination. So the best cross combination can be determined. The results of study on production and meat quality of Jianli sows and its crossed with Landrace swine and large Yorkshire swine showed that the production of hybrids of Jianli sows with Landrace swine and large Yorkshire swine was better than that of pure Jianli sows. But the meat quality of pure Jianli sows was better that of hybrids of Jianli sows with Landrace swine and large Yorkshire swine. In the all, this study revealed the improvement in production and meat quality of hybrids, which was beneficial to make use of Jianli sows.
