Lily(Lilium spp) is the famous flowers with grace flower, implying propitious meaning, appreciated by many people. In recent years,Lily’s production develops rapidly in China,but many problems are revealed in soilless culture, such as low level of managing technologies, poor quality. Compared with imported products, our products have big difference in flower quality.The experiment was conducted to resolve some problems in soilless production of lily, and to improve the flower quality. Through the methods of Pot experiment and plant analysis, the suitable proportion of NH4+-N /N03--N, proper substrate, the effect of salicylic acid (SA) on flowering time and flower quality were studied preliminarily. The results indicated as follows.N03--N is beneficial for the growth of Lily, and could significantly increase the accumulation of plant dry weight and nitrogen content in plant shoot and root. The treatment of 25 : 75 (%, N3) (NH4+-N/N03--N ) is the optimum ratio according to the proportion of flower bud and the length of anthesis. The plant height, flower diameter, chlorophyll content, dry weight of shoot and N content in root showed the highest level among all treatment. The results suggested that the N3 treatment could promote the root absorption of nutrient and the growth of plant.The effects of different culture substrates on the plant growth were also studied in this experiment. The results showed that the plant could grow well in the substrates of vermiculite, peat, vermiculite+peat (1 : 1) and quartz sand (CK). Through the index of plant height, stem diameter, length of flower bud, length of flower petal, flower width, flower number per plant and NPK contents in different plant parts, the substrate of vermiculite attained better balance of vegetative and reproductive growth of plant.The effect of different concentration of salicylic acid(SA) on the quality of cutting flower was also studied. The result indicated that SA can increase fresh weight and flower diameter under the concentration of 0.5 - 10.0 mmol·L-1. It can prolong cutting flower life, improving the flower quality under the concentration of 0.5 -2.0 mmol·L-1. The concentration of 1.0 mmol·L-1 showed the best effect.
