Along with the development of domestic high speed railway and the construction of thepassenger lines, Emu trains run environment are growing complexity. Good wheel/rail contactwill play a decisive role to ensure emu run safely. Therefore, the abrasive block materials oftread cleaning is the important component of train braking system that in relation to theoperation safety and cost. This papers based on the application of abrasive block materialsof tread cleaning on CRH2, the papers studied the structure characteristics of abrasive block,and has test mechanical property,also has test the friction and wear characteristics of abrasiveblock materials and it work way. In the above are put forward, proposed efficiency motorand developed a new abrasive block materials.The experimental results show that:1) Abrasive block materials main use phonemic resinas adhesives that organic matter content is low but metal powder content reach at60%~90%;2) To make abrasive block materials have good performance that must have thefollowing performance index: impact strength should be more than3.0Kj/m2, the bondstrength must be more than10KN, compression modulus should be less than6.5GPa,hardness should between in80~100HRR, from the use effect and a team in keep otherperformance unchanged, under the premise of hardness should be less than90HRR;3) Whenabrasive block work in high speed and pressure,materials surface will form a layer of filmthat will change friction coefficient and will produce adverse effect. So the block should avoiduse in above conditions. When the temperatures reach100℃that fiction will maintainedsteady unchanged at0.3. The temperatures reach150℃,the friction coefficient will Greatdeviation0.3and wear volumes is0.0043mm/Km;4)With same pressure conditions, singlestage braking mode abrasive block materials growing viscous effect is more effective thanmultilevel braking mode. Add in various medium conditions: when abrasive block materialswork pressure high,the tread roughness small,the pressure lower,the tread have highroughness.Whatever the braking mode, when spray water and other media will generatemetal-mounting, but the metal-mounting won’t grow up. To generate the metal-mounting theblock work speed should between in250Km/h~30Km/h and adopt more paragraphs brake;5)The service life of new abrasive block will reach103000~130000Km, From changefrequency and using effect, that have same service life with import abrasive block.
