| The mold industry plays a very important role in the modern society, in order to improve the using performance and life of the mold, laser surface strengthening technology has been widely applied. At the same time, improving the performance of the mold also brought difficult to mold processing. For the free surface finishing, rigid grinding tools is difficult to form a good surface contact with the workpiece surface. Machining precision surface not only quality is not stable but also the efficiency is low. In order to solve this problem, finishing technology with the softness consolidation abrasive pneumatic wheel is invented. At first, the contact force network of the softness consolidation abrasive group is analyzed, and the discrete element method is used to simulate. At last, softness consolidation of abrasive wear is analyzed. In this paper, the main contents are the following several aspects:(1) The hard ball model and the soft ball model which are the commonly used in the discrete element are introduced. Then the collision model of the hard ball model, particle motion equation, and the particle diecrete element simulation flow chart which is based on the hard ball model are described. At last, according to the soft ball model, the normal contact model, the tangential contact model and the rolling contact model of the softe consolidation abrasive group are established.(2) The contact force is the main reason of stress deformation and energy dissipation in the abrasive particle group.The contact force network and the stress product group effects of the softeness consolidation abrasive group are analyzed. This paper proves that the contact force of the softeness consolidation abrasive group is greater than the contact force of the free abrasive by the experiment and the simulation.(3) Soft consolidation abrasive can be supported by flexible when grinding, it is different from abrasive belt and the free abrasive. However, the effective processing time of pneumatic wheel is very short; the wear situation is more serious. In order to solve this problem, abrasive wear process and grinding mechanism of soft consolidation pneumatic wheel are discussed, and analyses the influence of the rotation speed co, the amount of press down d and the types of abrasive wear by the experiment, and observes the surface forms of different kinds of abrasive wear. The results show that soft consolidation of abrasive wear can be divided into the initial wear stage, the normal wear stage and the severe wear stage. Abrasive wear with the increase of grinding wheel rotation speed ω and the amount of press down d become serious, but when grinding wheel rotation speed ω is increased to a certain value, the abrasive wear may decline.The research results of this paper have a certain application value for using the softness consolidation abrasives pneumatic wheel to finishing processing. |
