As the highway construction of our country developed,the plate type elastomeric padbearings(PTEPB) for highway bridges faced with the increasingly serious diseases and thegrowth trend soon. So it is urgent to further study the disease status. This article was writtenbased on the research on the history of the development、 design theory and usage of PTEPB forhighway bridges and the survey results of the PTEPB used in FoKai. It analyzes the types andreasons of the disease and internal stress distribution of rectangular and round PTEPB withdisease through the finite element simulation. In the end it puts forward the correspondingtreatment measures. The detailed content is as follows:(1) The two previous parts mainly introduce the present situation of PTEPB, sort thediseases of PTEPB, and expound the results of the disease survey in FoKai, and analysis of thecauses of the disease from design, manufacturing, construction and operation.(2) The third part sure specifications of PTEPB commonly used in hignway bridges in first,then modify computing parameters of PTEPB, simulate the internal stress distribution ofrectangular and round PTEPB with different degree of bearing void、shear deformation overrunand rubber crack.(3) This thesis finally put forward countermeasures to prevent disease from design,manufacturing, construction and operation.
