Research On The Industrial Spatial Evolution And Its Impact On The Urban Spatial Structure Of Wuhu City

As the core city of the industrial transfer demonstration area along Wan-JiangCities belt and the sub-center of Anhui province, the rise of Wuhu City plays a veryimportant role in the development of regional economy in Anhui province. In thebackground of constructing industrial transfer demonstration area by Wan-Jiang Citiesbelt, with the new momentum provided by undertaking industrial transfer the fastdevelopment of Wuhu’s industrial space will exert influence on its space. The influenceof industrial spatial evolution on urban spatial structure and the supporting role ofurban spatial structure to industrial spatial evolution are analyzed in a systemic waythrough qualitative and quantitative methods to put forward strategies of optimizingthe urban spatial structure of Wuhu City.Periods of Wuhu City’s industrial spatial evolution are summarized as Slowdevelopment period, Leaping development period and Thriving developmentperiod respectively through the matrix relationship between the increment and totalquantity in industrial estate in the model of space matrix analysis and the historicalpolicies and background in different periods of the industrial development of WuhuCity is clearly presented. Sector fractal and layers analysis are adopted in theanalysis on industrial spatial evolution of Wuhu City, based on which the evolutionform was summarized as follows: from L shape to1shape and finger shapeultimately and the direction of expanding is in the north, south and east from theaverage speed to a fast one; while the expansion mode is characterized by thedevelopment from urban type to outer suburban type to multi-center outersuburban type.With global integration index and space syntax analysis, the mode of Wuhu City’surban space expansion is summarized from two aspects: the change of regional centerand the evolution of development axis; combining the features of industrial spatialevolution, the steering and promoting role of industrial space in the direction and modeof Wuhu City’s urban space expansion is analyzed from the perspective of exteriorspace; the influence of industrial space changes on urban built-up area land, residentialland, commercial land is analyzed in terms of internal function space, and its influence exerted on the urban function space is displayed on the updating and re-developing ofurban function space.Through summarizing the law of industrial spatial evolution and its influence onurban spatial structure evolution, the relationship between industrial spatial evolutionand urban spatial structure evolution can be summarized as the interaction between thetwo: the former can accelerate the latter while the latter provides structural supports.Given the pressure in the development of Wuhu City’s urban space, strategies ofoptimizing the industrial space layout and urban spatial structure in Wuhu City areproposed, which can provide technical supports for a harmonious development ofWuhu City’s industrial space and urban space.
