Analysis and discourse of ancient literature are indispensable for the study of the historyof Chinese classical garden, which provide us with the real and exact original materials andmake it possible to do research on the specific gardening ideas, techniques in ancienttimes and experience the image and the pleasure of gardens. Based on the two erroneousviews of Japanese scholars Gang Dalu mentioned in the History of ChineseGardenμabout the relationship between Chinese Garden Literature Yuan Yeμ andSuperfluous Thingsμ,which is the very sticking point about the reason of study,thisdissertation attempts to contrast the theory of the two tests with the comprehensive,multi-angle, multi-level research,in order to show the distinctive historical side ofChinese garden.Based on the learning and sorting out of the two texts and the related materials,themethods of comparison,induction and traceability are used in the theory research of thetwo texts. The paper is divided into six chapters, including the introduction,thecomparison of structures of the two texts,concept of gardening,techniques,elementsand artistic conception.In the first chapter,the main purpose is to discourse the origin reason of the dissertation,the research background,methods,meaning and the depth of research the article seeks toachieve. Next,this part focuses on the comparison of chapters of the two texts,which areassociated with the purpose of writing and the theory of landscape painting in theepistemology of the ancients. The arrangement design and purpose of writing which learnedfrom the chapters comparison of the two texts affect the other aspects of gardening ideas. Thethird section focuses on the comparison of concept. The homology puts emphasis on thedesigner·s subjective judgment in gardening,the balance and fitting of function. And thedifference is the concept of “innovation” and “nostalgia”. The main purpose of the forthchapter is to compare the techniques of gardening. The homology of techniques putsemphasis on the treatments of twists roads,the shelter or exposure of sight,the scenerycreated from the design of tiny,long and narrow corridors from which the nature can be ledinto the houses. And the differences consist of different treatments of “artistic conceptioncreated from fragment”and “Small-scale miniature tree”,the form of water shaped bystones and the research of the feature of water. The fifth part focuses on the comparison ofelements. The homology of elements puts emphasis on the aspects of stone and water,houses. And the differences consist of attitude of stones election,the form of the shore andthe amount of elements,which reveal the writer·s view points and strategies. Also,therecognition will be updated based on the form change of the history of classical gardens. The sixth section is about the comparison of gardens· artistic conception of the two texts. Thehomology of gardens· artistic conception puts emphasis on the shape and pursuit of nature,painting,urban Gardens and the high and steep stone. And the differences consist of threeaspects of space,scenery of landscape and aesthetics of garden. It conveys the personaldistinctive characteristics and properties of living in gardens. The last part is a summary ofthe dissertation,which consists of3parts: the results and meanings of the homology anddifferences in gardening ideas,as well as the distinctive characteristics and the authors·personal attitude appeared in the two texts.The article attempts repute the comparisons of homology and differences in “Yuanye”and “Superfluous Things”as the origin juncture of the research. The specific appearanceof characteristics and the reasons are discussed,in order to reveal the internal connotationbehind the phenomenon of the texts.The ancient cognitive concept different from thecurrent,the change of the history of garden,or the authors· perspectives and purposeswhich are connected with times and backgrounds may be contacted,and the awareness ofthe garden can be updated and improved. Tt the same time,the ideas and strategies in theresearch also can be used the present practice.
