The Optimized Design Research Of Cluster Mailboxes Based On Maslow’s Hierarchy Of Needs

With the continuous development of science and technology, the communication modes among people are increasingly squinting towards the electronic computerization. Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean the electronic computerization is to take over from the traditional postal industry. Undoubtedly, some mails have to be delivered through the traditional postal service. And exactly its terminal is mailbox which is an infrastructure guaranteeing the postal communication. In addition, the convenience and security of residential postal communication are also two essential symbols measuring the general standard of living. Only when it’s guaranteed can it reflect the basic communication right that every citizen should have. Meanwhile, the mailbox is also a significant tool of urban spiritual civilization development and handy service for the public. Therefore, we should not neglect its functions.The specific research objects of this paper aim at the cluster mailboxes whose user groups are uptown residents and postmen. And the research is based on the bibliographic retrieval, field survey, questionnaire survey, network information analysis,3D modeling software and physical model verification. This paper is led by Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, discussing the different hierarchy of needs accordingly when the cluster mailboxes are used. Besides, we would also think about numerous problems which appear under this hierarchy of needs and different functional requirements among different people. Definitely, the design criteria of mailbox should be established upon the hierarchy of needs. The optimal design and intelligent solution will surely make the ordinary residents use the mailboxes or even cluster mailboxes in a comfortable and efficient way. As for the handicapped people in the community, the optimal design is quite crucial. In doing so, they will actually find great comfort both mentally and physically, feel nothing different from others and live with the average people in a better way. Furthermore, the mailboxes with the optimal design boast a sense of beauty which to some extent can enhance the postmen’s working efficiency and enthusiasm so the postmen are more willing to finish the delivery tasks. From a macro perspective, it’s quite beneficial to promote the national postal services, exploit its advantages to the full, carry forward the traditional culture and harmoniously coexist with the newly emerging post industry in the long term so that each average person can benefit from the postal services better.
