Research On Adaptive Design Of Public Space In Urban Transportation Hub Complex

Urban transportation hub complex, which comprehensive traffic function and otherfunctions of city life, has developed with transit-oriented development, intensive use of landand space, urban architecture socialization and gigantism. It’s main space is public space. Thisspace plays a organizing and coordinating role in urban transportation hub complex.The study rationale of this paper is the theory of adaptive urban design. Based on thestudy of the public space of urban transportation hub complex and its practical use in theinduction and preliminary analysis of the problem, in accordance with the integral control anddynamic adaptation of adaptive design, the paper analyzed the internal and external factors ofthe adaptiveness for the public space of urban transportation hub complex. According to thebasic functions and features of the complex public space, the paper defined the objectives andprinciples of adaptive design, and put forwards the adaptive design points from the aspects oftransportation hub function, functional integration, and adapting dynamic development. Thepaper took Xizhimen transportation hub complex as the example and tried to build the basicframework of the public space adaptive design for urban transportation hub complex.
