With increasing requirement of braking performance and safety performance on construction machinery, caliper disc brake and drum brake that are widely used on ordinary vehicles couldn’t meet the braking requirement of construction machinery, while it’s a tendency for wet multi-disc brake to replace dry brake. Now developed countries with advanced technology use wet multi-disc brake widely in construction machinery. Wet multi-disc brake started late in our country, although it has low popularity, its application has been taken seriously and begins to enter into transition phase. But now, there is not yet the design standards. So it’s meaningful to have research on wet multi-disc brake.The research subject of this thesis is a wet multi-disc brake used on five-ton loader designed and made by our project team. This research topic was proposed by cooperation unit Jiaozuo Brake Incorporated Company, this thesis is a sub task of the research project. Its purpose is to have theoretical analysis and optimum design on braking performance requirement in wet multi-disc brake design proposal. With the help of computer simulation, it mainly analyzed the possible influence of several key parameters of the brake design proposal on the whole brake performance.This thesis first gives type selection and design proposal on wet multi-disc brake, takes system design on performance requirement of brake used on loader based on national standards strictly. Then it has comparative analysis on several key parameters which have more influence on performance of wet multi-disc brake in piston pressure plate and hydraulic system. At last, it gives test plan of physical prototype, modifies the design proposal of wet multi-disc brake properly to fit the test condition, gives reference to other sub tasks in this project and further research project.First, the shape of the piston and the pressure plate by the force of static friction locations sheet directly affects the pressure distribution of the group. Theoretical studies show that the optimal set of friction plates pressure distribution should be inversely proportional to the diameter to the outer diameter distribution, Location close to the inner diameter of the force and the use of cone-shaped cross-section so that the pressure distribution tends to be idealized. Optional hydraulic system accumulator nominal volume greater work is completed in a single braking the greater pressure maintained. So it can cope with a variety of complex conditions. Nominal volume1.6L is the working floor threshold. Reducing the stiffness of the return spring will increase the response speed of the system, but it will reduce the system stability, and increasing the impact of the system. In the system response speed is fast enough to be under the premise that the spring stiffness as large as possible. The braking force of the restoring force is equal to0.1times the optimum. Shorten the piston stroke will help shorten the system response time, reduce fuel. Minimum stroke of approximately5.5mm.
