Abstract/Summary:
As the composition in shipbuilding industry is becoming more and more fierce, to improve the efficiency and reduce costs is becoming an important issue for shipbuilding enterprises. The design of ship block lifting plan is an important part of the ship production design. The traditional method of all the blocks’lifting plan is worked out all by the designers according to the characteristics of the each block. This method is of low efficiency and needs lots of repetitive work for the designers. And the accuracy and the optimization of the lifting plan are not guaranteed. So in this paper, research has been done on the automated design method of ship block lifting. The research is mainly on the blocks of the annular sections in the VLCC’s cargo area, because more than70%of the VLCC’s blocks belong to the annular sections in the central part of the ship, and the blocks are similar in structure, that makes these blocks fit for automated lifting design.Firstly, the current block lifting process is discussed, the process’s characteristics are summarized. The application influence of gantry crane and lifting lug in block lifting are also discussed. The restrictive conditions of gantry crane to block lifting plan is summarized.Then, after the analysis on the lifting plans of blocks belonging to the annular sections in the VLCC’s cargo area, typical partition of the annular section is summed up. After taking the gantry crane, the structure characteristic and size of the block, the safety and other factors into consideration, the principles of each typical block’s lifting plan design are summarized, and then each typical block’s automated lifting design algorithm is abstracted.Finally, use the Python language to achieve the algorithm and develop the automated design system for ship block lifting. The system extracts the data about the block’s weight, size and structure form from the Tribon database by Python language. The extracted data is processed and stored in the database of the system. With these data and the algorithm the system will work out the block lifting plan automatically.This paper realized the automation of ship block lifting design. When using this system to work out a block’s lifting plan, the user should choose the type and the part of the block, then the plan file is generated. The file can run directly in Tribon and will form the lifting plan. The system is proven to work well in the practical engineering.
