With the development of building materials, metallurgy, power generation industry production scale, development and environmental protection and low energy consumption requirements, vertical mill market demand vigorously, as a core component of the host machine—the research on reducing vertical mill is very important. The case is the main bearing member of the reducer, so the research on the body is the priority among priorities. On the basis of the input power is500kW vertical mill reducer box as the object of study, to provide a reasonable method and theoretical basis for the analysis of the box structure, and the paper has the universal guiding significance to design of case structure for this type of a whole series of deceleration.Concrete research work is as follows:In this paper, the reduction case structure of the vertical mill were studied. Through the application of force analysis and SolidWorks software on the reduction case, simplified the3D entity model was builded. With the interface for the ANSYS of the finite element analysis software,the model was imported into ANSYS successfully. Through the application of ANSYS software and finite element theory, the static analysis, modal analysis and characteristic value buckling analysis respectively are analysed for the case,and the analysis results of the stress and displacement, natural frequency and mode of vibration, buckling deformation and buckling load coefficient were getted. The rationality, reliability of the case structure was demonstrated. According to the optimization design theory and the optimization design module of ANSYS software, the case structure is optimized. With the objective function of minimum volume, the parameters of the wall thickness for the reduction case were optimized, its mass was reduced by30%.This article merges the design,model building,analyzing,optimizing into an organic whole,which possesses an important meaning to raise the design standard and efficiency of the gear box.
