Research Of Low-Rise And High-Density Residential District Landscape Design Method

Nowadays people living ideal evolves from "Home Ownership Scheme" into the "Home ownership beautifying scheme ", which means that the quality of living environment has gained widespread concern of the public. In recent years, the market demands of the low-rise residence standing for the high-end residential quality are exuberant, but because of the Chinese national conditions of large population and scarce land resource, the low-rise and low-density residential area is not suitable for the development, so the low-rise but high-density residential areas may become the mainstream of the low-rise residential development in our country.Compared to other types of residential areas, the low-density residential areas have some characteristics in the outdoor space, such as near residential space, dense road nets and needing to solve the semi-private space of the courtyard, and so on, so the landscape playing space is very limited. However, low-rise and high-density housing area was born to improve people’s living quality, so the demand for the outdoor landscape environment is relatively high. Thus, environmental quality and environmental space forms a contradiction. Through a lot of data research, the text summarizes the common problems existing in most of the current domestic low-rise and high-density residential landscape design:(1) The landscape is lack of gradation, and the landscape elements is single;(2) The green areas are less;(3) There are a large number of artificial landscape, lacking of ecological consciousness;(4) The ratio of the soft and hard landscape are imbalanced;(5) The landscape and the architecture are fragmented, making the overall environment uncoordinated. Most of these problems are caused by limited space, and all the problems make the environment not up to a higher demand.In view of the above problems, this text focuses on the five excellent typical cases to make a comprehensive comparative analysis, summarizing the five projects’skills and methods in the application of the six main landscape elements of the terrain, planting, buildings, felting, structures and waters, analyzing the excellent projects to resolve the problems above, and then summing up the landscape design methods suitable for the low-rise and high-density housing areas. Finally, validate the method through a design practicing analysis. The text comprehensively use document analysis, case comparison analysis, comprehensive summary, practical verification and other methods to analysis methods to get the method to resolve the problems of the low-rise and high-density residential landscape design, so as to improve the environmental quality of this kind of residential landscape.
