Piling Hill Research About Jingyi Garden On Fragrant Hills

The Jingyi Garden in Fragrant Hills, whose one mountain and one garden are included in the famous "Three Mountains and Five Royal Gardens", is a large Garden located at the east foothill of West Mountain in northern suburbs of Beijing. The Fragrant Hills is mountainous and wooded. The landscape of piling hills illustrates the unique characteristics of the imperial garden of Qing dynasty, which also has great values of research. However, so far there is still no research on the pilling hills of the Jingyi Garden in Fragrant Hills. The aim of this work is to systematically summarize and critically review the literatures about the landscape of pilling hills in Jingyi Garden, and finally obtain the complete development process of the styles and technique of pilling hills in the Jingyi Garden of the Fragrant Hills.In Chapter2, plenty of historical documents, files and existing sites of ancient time are reviewed and summarized. Based on different methods of pilling hills, the Jingyi Garden pilling hills are classified as piedmont, mountain path, valley, mountain steam, cave, waterfall, pavilion, rock pool and table mountain, together with the corresponding discussion and examples. In chapter3, the Qinzheng Hall, Daishuipingshan, Yingluo Rocks, Xiangshan Temple, Rain Fragance Hall, Songwu cloud Village, Senyuhu, Jianxin House, are separately listed for their outstanding landscape of pilling hills, and are further elaborated and analyzed in terms of their historical development, the layout of the gardens and the skills of pilling hills. A comprehensive study on the pilling hills of the Jingyi Garden in Fragrant Hills is finally accomplished.
