Research Of Technology Based On Flight Simulation Of UAV

This paper, on the basis of the existing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) flight simulationstudies, using the theory of Virtual Reality(VR) technology, combined with a MicrosoftFoundation Library(MFC) application, designed the UAV Flight Simulation Platform basedon the Vega. That could show the real-time flight process of UAV vividly, analyze andevaluate conveniently and provide the truth for researching the flight rule of UAV.Firstly, the research situation of the VR technology is introduced, the main content andkey problems of the technology research based on flight simulation of UAV are proposed.Secondly, the MultiGen Creator is introduced, by comprehensive use of the key technology ofthe3D modeling such as the Lever of Detail(LOD), the Degree of Freedom(DOF), reduce thenumber of polygons, the instantiation and the texture mapping, the UAV3D model isconstructed. The3D model of the terrain is designed on the basis of the study of thedifferences among the three kinds of Terrain Conversion Algorithm and achieved with theDelaunay triangle algorithm. Thirdly, the Lynx and the MultiGen Vega are introduced, thesettings of the ADF file according to the Lynx are researched and analyzed mainly, UAV flightsimulation is designed on the Vega application and programming platform, real time driver ofthe UAV model is achieved consequently.In the next chapter, by use of the Application Program Interface(API) of the Vega and theMFC, display control, environment settings, full screen display, display the coordinates of theobserver and other extended functions on the UAV flight simulation are realized by concretealgorithm, and completed the design of the UAV flight simulation platform based on MFC.Finally, through debugging and running the UAV flight simulation platform, the effectwith visual reality and run smoothly in real-time simulation is gained.
