Jumping angle is an important testing parameters of exterior ballistics, and measuring the jumping angle of guns under different elevation is of great significance for improving the accuracy and study intensity. This paper mainly completed selection and improvement of test method of jumping angle when shooting with an elevation, and designed the test experiment of jumping angle when shooting with an elevation.First of all, according to the principle of measurement of jumping angle, combined with the error transfer formula, transfer formula of measurement error of jumping angle was deduced.Secondly, according to the test condition and measurement requirements of jumping angle, the selection criterion was concluded. Appling the criterion, the vertical target was preliminary compared and analyzed, and it is thought that the double linear CCD vertical target with the four combination screen array vertical target is the most promising approach.Thirdly, the double linear CCD vertical target’ measurement principle of coordinate with error formula was derived, and the measuring error was simulated and analyzed. On the basis, combining the measuring principle and error formula of jumping angle, and the measuring error of jumping angle was simulated and analyzed. Then, the double linear CCD vertical target’s structure was optimized.Forth, the four combination screen array vertical target’s measurement principle of coordinate with error formula was derived, and the measuring error was simulated and analyzed. On the basis, combining the measuring principle and error formula of jumping angle, and the measuring error of jumping angle was simulated and analyzed. Then, the four combination screen array vertical target’s structure was optimized.Finally, in comparison with the jumping angle measurement error and other properties of the double linear CCD vertical target and the four combination screen array vertical target, the four combination screen array vertical target is obviously better than the double linear CCD vertical target. The design of the four combination screen array vertical target’s structure parameter was simplified, and the experiment of jumping angle when shooting with an elevation of general guns was designed.
