Building is an important component of human’s life. With technological development, intelligent building comes into being and its functions increase by the application of more and more devices. In recent years, people’s functional requirements of the buildings are higher and higher with the rapid development and the construction industry in China. However, the fire safety hazards are more complex in the face of increasingly high-level, large-scale and multi-functional modern civil buildings. So people pay more attention to emergency lighting because of its importance in the fire safety and the relevance of people’s life and property safety. So, some practical designs for the emergency lighting of the civil building are researched to analyze the designs and applications in the actual engineering project. This thesis discusses the status quo and the development of intelligent lighting and emergency lighting, and gives a detail requirement of related electrical design specification of emergency lighting design. Considering these specific requirements and combining the developments and applications, traditional design methods and implementation of the emergency lighting system are analyzed. After seriously studying the defects and shortcomings of the traditional emergency lighting technology and analyzing the new type of intelligent emergency lighting evacuation instructions technology, a practical design method of intelligent emergency lighting evacuation instructions system is proposed. Finally, take South Lake Campus Library of Wuhan University of Technology electrical design projects, for example, the design process and implementation of the actual project of the emergency lighting technology is elaborated. The electrical construction drawings were completed in December2011and the relevant portion of the emergency lighting will be analyzed in detail.
